FAQ

What is a holistic health coach?

A Health Coach is a guide and supportive mentor who empowers their clients to make impactful lifestyle and behavior changes across a wide variety of areas, through personalized, one-on-one coaching, in order to reach their wellness goals.

Health coaches view their clients as bio-individuals and understand that there is no “one size fits all” approach to health. Health Coaches will take the time to listen to your unique concerns and help you identify goals, strategies and solutions that work for you. A Health Coach will help you navigate the world of contradictory nutritional advice to identify exactly what will work for your body and your needs.

what is the difference between a health coach and a registered DIETITIAN?

Typically a registered dietician and nutritionist will focus on nutrition and the food that you eat, a health coach has more of a big picture approach when it comes to health and wellness.

Health Coaches break up health into two categories: Primary food and Secondary food. Secondary food, refers to the food that we physically consume- it’s the food on our plate. Primary food is all the things that nourish us off the plate – this can include spirituality, career, emotional well-being, relationships, stress, methods of eating, etc.. The goal is to create balance in all aspects of your life in regards to wellness. When there’s an imbalance in food, there’s typically an imbalance in the other sectors of your life. We work together to fix that. It is all about treating the cause not just the symptoms.

WHY DO YOU RECOMMEND A 6 MONTH PROGRAM? CAN I DO A 3 OR A 1 MONTH PROGRAM?

The reason I work with clients in a 6-month program, is because 6 months is the optimum period of time when people can build and sustain a practice for the rest of their life. You may start feeling better in the first few months, but 6 months allows me the chance to help you through a lot of different life cycles and events to better assist you in staying on track thus promoting a sustainable lifestyle that you are capable of doing long term. I do offer different coaching packages depending what your goals are. These can all be discussed during the Free Discovery Call I offer to all potential clients.

where did YOU go to school?

For my health coaching program I graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. IIN is the largest and leading holistic health school in America and graduates of IIN are the most recognized and sought after in the industry. I am also working on my Hormone certification from IIN as well. In addition to my health coaching certifications I also am working towards my Yoga 200 hour certification along with my herbal practitioner certification.

what is bio-individuality? what does that mean for me?

Bio-individuality is the understanding that every single person on this earth is unique and as such so should their approach to health. There is no one size fits all approach to health and wellness. Working with me means that you will get tailored programs to help you achieve your personal wellness goals.

CAN I BE A CLIENT IF I AM LOCATED IN ANOTHER COUNTRY?

YES! I would love nothing more than to work with you no matter where you live. Although there may be a language barrier if you do not speak English, but I am fortunate to also know Portuguese.

• I am a holistic health coach. I went to @nutritionschool⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• I am currently in my yoga certification & I can not wait to bring movement to you all very soon 😊⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• I love going to my local farmers markets on the weekend & after growing up around my grandparents large urban garden I hope to create a garden at my house this year to grow my own plants and teach my son how to as well.
• I believe that healthy looks different for everyone and so does everyone’s journey to healthy! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My story with health began as a kid when I got my period at 8 and then diagnosed with endometriosis when I was around 12. I struggled to get out of bed and the pain was unbearable. I was told I couldn’t have kids but I was determined to health my gut and hormones & that’s what I did! Through that I also suffered from extreme dietary upset in my teenage years. To the point where I had 3 colonoscopies and 1 endoscopy in a 6 month period. There was nothing I really could eat that wouldn’t upset my stomach. Since no one could really pinpoint exactly what my issue was I changed my diet healed my gut naturally. Later in my 20s I spent years in the corporate world, this took a huge toll on my mental and physical health. I found myself reverting back to being sick. I walked away in 2019 and decided to go back to school to do something to help people suffering with the same issues I had gone through. I now help women through their hormone and gut journeys to heal and live healthy happy lives both physically and mentally ❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
