In season // February ❤️ With the rise in groc

In season // February ❤️ With the rise in grocery prices it’s more important than ever to support your local agriculture and farming to help keep those costs lowered while also supporting small family businesses. Here are a few options/ tips if you don’t know where to start:
• local co-op programs: if you search co-op near me there are endless resources that link directly to farms that take part in these programs.
• farmers markets: this is a great way to dip your toe into shopping more locally and getting to know your farmer. Many of them participate in co-op programs and if they don’t many of them do give specials for buying in larger quantities
• butcher shares: I personally use @waldenlocalmeat for all my meats and recently added eggs into my share. This program is local to New England and New York but it’s a great program for anyone who is looking to buy quality meats in all sorts of cuts. All are grass fed and antibiotic free.
• buy from the freezer! Berries especially are picked at the peak of freshness before frozen which make a great replacement to buying berries in the winter when they are out of season for example. I do this often times with broccoli as well that’s I add into my pasta dishes
• buy in bulk when possible: I love buying my rice and grains in bulk. I store them in airtight containers in additional to their original packaging to longer the shelf life.
• do what’s best for you! I think it’s the utmost important to remember that you don’t need to change your world over all at once. Start with 1 or 2 tips that you think will work for you and your family and slowly make adjustments when needed. It’s not about perfection, just progress for a better you 🤍

Happy Monday everyone! I have a few new faces here so I am taking this opportunity to reintroduce myself 😊️ For those of you who are new here hello! My name is Cortney and I’m so thankful that each of you are here ❤️

• I am a mom to the most amazing little boy, Kashel & wife to an awesome husband. Both I am very thankful for.
• I am a holistic health coach. I went to @nutritionschool⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• I am currently in my yoga certification & I can not wait to bring movement to you all very soon 😊⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• I love going to my local farmers markets on the weekend & after growing up around my grandparents large urban garden I hope to create a garden at my house this year to grow my own plants and teach my son how to as well.
• I believe that healthy looks different for everyone and so does everyone’s journey to healthy! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

My story with health began as a kid when I got my period at 8 and then diagnosed with endometriosis when I was around 12. I struggled to get out of bed and the pain was unbearable. I was told I couldn’t have kids but I was determined to health my gut and hormones & that’s what I did! Through that I also suffered from extreme dietary upset in my teenage years. To the point where I had 3 colonoscopies and 1 endoscopy in a 6 month period. There was nothing I really could eat that wouldn’t upset my stomach. Since no one could really pinpoint exactly what my issue was I changed my diet healed my gut naturally. Later in my 20s I spent years in the corporate world, this took a huge toll on my mental and physical health. I found myself reverting back to being sick. I walked away in 2019 and decided to go back to school to do something to help people suffering with the same issues I had gone through. I now help women through their hormone and gut journeys to heal and live healthy happy lives both physically and mentally ❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
